Apologies Minutes: Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Les Howes, Sue Howes and Lenny Rolles.
Councillors David Turner and Makhan Singh were absent from the Chamber during items 60 and 61 on the Agenda.

Admittance of Honorary Freemen To consider a Notice of Motion pursuant to paragraph 15 of Annex 2.1 of the Council Procedure Rules submitted jointly by Councillors John Burden and Michael Wenban:-
a) That in recognition of his eminent services to the Borough of Gravesham,
Makhan Singh
be admitted as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough pursuant to Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972.
b) That in recognition of his eminent services to the Borough of Gravesham,
David Harold Winston Turner
be admitted as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough pursuant to Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972.
c) That in pursuance of Section 249 (9) of the Local Government Act 1972, expenditure be authorised to enable an address to be presented to each of the Honorary Freemen of the Borough referred to in a) and b) above.
Minutes: It was proposed by Councillor John Burden, seconded by Councillor Michael Wenban that:
1) In recognition of his eminent service to the Borough of Gravesham Councillor Makhan Singh be admitted at an Honorary Freeman of the Borough pursuant to Section 249 (5) of the Local Government Act 1972.
It was resolved unanimously that Makhan Singh be so admitted.
2) In recognition of his eminent service to the Borough of Gravesham Councillor David Harold Winston Turner be admitted as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough pursuant to Section 249 (5) of the Local Government Act 1972.
It was resolved unanimously that David Harold Winston Turner be so admitted.
3) Pursuant to Section 249 (9) of the Local Government Act 1972 expenditure to enable and an address to be presented to each of the new Honorary Freemen of the Borough be approved.
It was resolved unanimously that such expenditure be approved.

Seal of the Council To authorise that the Common Seal of the Council be affixed to any instrument to give effect to a decision of the Council taken at this meeting.
Minutes: Resolved that the fixing of the Common Seal to and contract, minute, notice or other document requiring the same be authorised. |
